St. Paul's University Catholic Center

Undergrad Retreats

Each year St. Paul's offers a variety of retreats to students that allow a chance to get off campus, meet new people, and deepen their faith in God. A retreat is what it sounds like: time to step back, to reevaluate, and to pursue God's call. Some of our retreats are geared toward building community while others are specifically for you to hear the gentle voice of The Shepherd. Though each retreat is different, they all have common goals: to pursue a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and to work with others to spread His joy to the world.
Here is information about each of the retreats and how you can sign up when registration is available.  If you have further questions about retreats feel free to contact Jane Voelker at jvoelker@uwcatholic.org or Nicholas Stabo at nstabo@uwcatholic.org.

Busy Students Retreat

Look for this in the Fall Semester!
This retreat is exactly what it sounds like: a retreat for those who are too busy. Rather than going away for a whole weekend, this retreat gives students a retreat formed right into their schedule. Spiritual Directors from all over come to help build up the faith of the students on campus. For an hour each day you can meet with a Spiritual Director and use that time to take a break from the ever-present busyness and seek a deeper connection with God.

Freshman Getaway

TBA
This getaway is offered exclusively for freshman! Students will spend a free fun-filled day playing games, eating food and getting to know other Freshman new to Madison. Note: this is not on a home Badger football Game Day, so sign up! Registration begins early in the semester--keep your eyes peeled!

   Fall Retreat
Check back soon for the exact date--sometime in late October!

The Fall Retreat is open to all students and will take place in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The focus of this one day retreat is a pilgrimage to the beautiful Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse. This retreat is an excellent chance to see the shrine and enjoy the crisp autumn weather.

Register at the front desk.  Cost is $25.

Koinonia Retreats

October 7th - October 9th and March 23rd - 25th

This retreat is so popular that it is offered twice a year. Koinonia is a Greek word for community which is what this weekend is all about; a chance to meet other students and grow in a faith-filled environment.

Because of its popularity, the maximum number of spaces will fill up fast.  Look for publicity flyers around St. Paul's for the day and time that registration will start.

Winter Retreat

February 10th - 12th
This retreat is our largest retreat of the year. Over 150 Undergrads gather at the Bishop O'Connor Center for a weekend of fun, prayer, and community. This is a great time off campus to relax, play games, and grow in relationship with God. Registration will be open beginning on January 16th.

Silent Retreats

St. Paul's will be posting information about various silent retreats around the area.  Keep your eyes open for when and where these retreats will occur.
In order to truly retreat, one must leave their life behind in order to walk towards God. The men and women's silent retreats are great opportunities for students to quiet their hearts and minds, retreat from the noise and distractions of our lives, and hear God's voice. These retreats offer a chance for silence, stillness, and a rejuvenation of the spirit.
