Lumen Institute of Integrated Studies: About

The goal of the Lumen Institute is to sponsor for credit course work that will enable students to integrate their faith with their secular studies.  As Catholics, we can have no conflict between faith and reason.  If our faith would ever become unreasonable, we would slide into religious fanaticism.  On the other hand, pure reason without faith eventually loses the ability to confidently aim for what is true, good and beautiful.  Furthermore, it is also our responsibility to use our reason, guided by faith, in order to secure a more just society, provide for the common good, and make a more fertile ground for the Gospel.
